Dolphins roster breakdown 2019: Mike Gesicki

Once we inch closer and closer to the beginning of training camp, we slowly begin to break down the depth chart plus which players could make an impact for the 53-man roster. In this installment from the 90-in-90 series, I take a look at a gamer that many believe will have a large year in 2019.

What can we all expect from the Dolphins' tight result in his second season under brand new offensive coordinator, Chad O'Shea? Take a look at tight end Mike Gesicki.

2018 Review

To say Gesicki's first year season was a disappointment would be a good understatement. And for a guy that was not known for his pass blocking within the college, Adam Gase and the earlier regime asked him to do it a great deal. In fact, he blocked more than some other player at his position within 2018. This ultimately led to their below average season.
2018 stats: twenty-two receptions for 202 yards

Agreement

Gesicki was drafted in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft (#42). He signed a four-year handle the Miami Dolphins worth $6, 611, 924. (OverTheCap)
Why he can progress
With the addition of Dwayne Allen this particular offseason, it is believed that this brand new coaching staff will let Gesicki fly. And in doing so, he will flower into one of the league's better-limited ends. At Penn State, Gesicki proved he could be a big-bodied red zone target. And he tested out of this globe at the combine–proving to be a freak sportsman.
In a Rob Gronkowski-type role, Gesicki should breakout in a New Britain style offense.dolphin bestselling gear400

Why he might regress

If we're being honest, Gesicki struggled mightily vs press insurance coverage as a rookie. And at times, appeared over-matched from the very first snap. In case he continues to lack confidence plus struggle to beat smaller defensive shells, Miami could have a ‘Michael Egnew' problem on their hands.
2019 is actually a make or break year for Gesicki.

Likelihood of making the 53-man roster

completely percent. There's absolutely no way Paul Gesicki isn't on the Dolphins' roster in 2019. And don't be amazed if by the end of the year, you will find a lot more people that believe in the playmaking tight end. I know I do.
