Podcast: Questions Jets GM candidates might haveby John B on May 24, 2019 at 2:00 pm
The Jets are looking for a new general manager. So far there have been few developments. Candidates have reportedly not even been contacted yet, and interviews have yet to begin. Presumably this will change soon, and the Jets will get the process rolling. On today’s podcast we take a look at the job and questions the team might have to answer from some potential applicants. This job has one major plus, the presence of Sam Darnold. For some applicants already having the franchise quarterback in place might be the most important element of the job. There still are numerous questions surrounding the job the Jets will likely have to answer in the interview process. The team will have to discuss its ownership situation, expectations, and chain of command. Thank you for listening to the show. New York Jets Flight Connections 5/24/19by Fade-away on May 24, 2019 at 11:00 am
Bringing your daily links to the NFL’s New York Jets Good morning, Jets fans! I hope everyone is having a great start to their day. As most know by now, Adam Gase spoke to the media after the first day of OTA’s. To no one’s surprise, it was full of artificial drama and nagging by reporters. Though much of the media has claimed the team to be a circus, most of this ‘entertainment’ would be ignored if it wasn’t for the constant over-exaggerations made by members of the media. As it’s been told many times before, if the Jets do well everything that has happened will be forgotten. If the Jets do poorly, this bites everyone in the behind. With that said, here are your links to start off your weekend. Jets head coach Adam Gase addressed the media before the start of today’s OTA session. Here are some of the highlights. Jets mailbag: What difference does timing make in firing a general manager?by John B on May 23, 2019 at 2:00 pm
It has been a wild, chaotic week for the New York Jets franchise. To mark the occasion today we have a podcast mailbag. Thanks to everybody who submitted questions. Due to the extraordinary nature of the past week, I extended the show to try to fit in as many as possible. Please resubmit for future shows if your question today went unanswered. Today we look at the impact of waiting until May to fire Mike Maccagnan, the level of reported dysfunction between Maccagnan and Adam Gase, which Jets reporters are worth your time, the best and worst owners in the NFL, Jamal Adams’ role in the defense, how difficult learning a new offensive system is for a quarterback, the impact of scouts, whether the Jets should bring back Morris Claiborne, and more. Thanks to everybody out there for listening to the show. Your support for the podcast is always greatly appreciated. […]
